Renters United collects personal information from you, including your:
- name
- contact information (email, phone number, postal address)
- location (postal address, postcode)
- interactions with us (actions you take, meetings you attend, emails you open or recieve)
- renting status (whether you are currently renting or not)
We collect your personal information in order to:
- contact you if you have expressed you’d like to hear from us
- have a better understanding of where you and our other members are located
- send you relevant emails based on your location
- track your engagement through emails to better inform us about our contact methods
- report our membership numbers at the AGM
Providing some information is optional.
- If you choose not to enter an email address, we’ll be unable to keep you up to date on what’s happening at Renters United.
- If you choose not to enter a post code we’ll be unable to send you targeted emails related to your area.
We keep your information safe by only allowing volunteers who have entered a non-disclosure agreement to access your data. We will also never share your information with third parties without asking you for your consent first.
You have the right to ask for a copy of any personal information we hold about you, and to ask for it to be corrected if you think it is wrong. If you’d like to ask for a copy of your information, or to have it corrected, please contact us at volunteer@rentersunited.org.nz.
