Type: Fixed Term Contract (22/05/2024 – 30/09/2024)
Location: Wellington
Compensation: $28.50 per hour, up to 6 hours per week
Renters United is an advocacy group founded in 2015 working on behalf of tenants in the private residential rental market. We campaign for all renters to have safe, affordable and secure homes and a voice in the decisions that affect them.
Renters United is looking for a fixed term organiser to join our team for the next 4 months to ensure renters voices are heard through the Government’s rental reform. You would be responsible for planning and delivering a short national campaign in partnership with our allied organisations across Aotearoa.
This is a dynamic role that requires strong people skills, great time management, flexibility and a can-do approach. You will work with existing activists, members and supporters to build capacity and to amplify their voices.
The ideal candidate would demonstrate a passion to organise renters and campaign to make renting better for everyone. We’re looking for candidates that can hit the ground running and deliver an impactful campaign within the contracted term.
This position is paid $28.50/hour and is for a short term contract. We do not currently have any plans to extend the contract beyond this term.
To apply please send a CV to geordie@rentersunited.org.nz by 5pm Friday the 17th of May.
